Do I need to apply topical anaesthetic before treating a patient?
The use of topical anaesthetic is a decision that should be made between provider and patient; it is
certainly not necessary. This is because the integrated chill plate keeps the epidermis cool during
treatment, while allowing the light to safely reach its target.
What skin types can be treated with the BBL?
Skin types 1-5 (using the Fitzpatrick scale) can be safely treated with BBL® HERO™. The safety of BBL® HERO™’s
chiller system and integrated sapphire chill plate maintains the desired temperature of the skin within 1 degree of variability.
